The German Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) is inviting participation in the history festival “War or Peace. Crossroads of History 1918 | 2018” which will take place in Berlin from 17 – 21 October 2018. The event marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and links numerous workshops to a varied cultural programme.
Up until 30 June 2018 young interested persons between 18 and 30 years of age can apply to participate in the festivals’ Campus. There, 400 participants from Europe and many other countries will have the opportunity to discuss new perspectives on war and peace in history and in today’s world.
The main purpose is to bring personal project experiences to workshops and to meet people from all over the world to intensively work on a topic. Participants will illuminate various historical narratives and developments that originated the post-1918 period but still reverberate today, and discuss their significance for the here and now.
The central venue is the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin which will contribute a diverse and varied cultural programme to the festival.
Participants of the festivals’ Campus will be accommodated at a central hostel in Berlin in shared rooms. Travel costs will partly be reimbursed.
